Now it is 2020 and I just got back from New York and am mad inspired by Neri Oxman, the notion and potential of Māori Futurism as a vehicle for what’s possible by way of activating and legitimasing the view points of modern Māori, diversifying the mainstream’s notion about what it is to be Māori, providing rangatahi with more accurate reflections in media about what it is to belong to TODAY, or providing pathways or a platform for them to educate us, the older generation about what that experience is, including the viewpoints of cross-cultur’d urbanites growing up with the dual culture vista’d outlook of the half caste life experience.
More generally
What is our life expectancy?
How do we reconcile with where we are? This position? That position being on the edge of some Rerenga Wairua, about to cross a threshold, jumping off a slice of earth and out into some futurist unknowns. The world of Mass Data Harvesting, the world of seeking to colonise Space, the world of computized and digitised natural organisms, fortified and conjured not by natural process, but by human design.
Fuk. Do we really kno what that means? As a collective, all of us, physical manifestations built from water, bodies. Biomechanics, impulses that form a habitual chain reaction based on patterns of behaviour developed in infancy. Lil electro magnetic members going do this do this do this….
Fuk m8 I dunno if I’m ready ay.
